The VII International Scientific Conference “Sakhalin Island”

On September 14–20 2020, the VII International Scientific Conference “Sakhalin Island” by A.P. Chekhov in the 21st Century”   was held, dedicated to the 160th anniversary of the birth of A.P. Chekhov, the 130th anniversary of his trip to Sakhalin and the 125th anniversary of the publication of his book “Sakhalin Island” as a separate edition.

The Conference taken place in Yuzhno‐Sakhalinsk city as well as in Korsakovsky, Tymovsky and Aleksandrovsk‐Sakhalinsky districts of the Sakhalin region.

The Conference is founded by the Sakhalin Region Government. Organized by the Ministry of Culture and Archival Affairs of the Sakhalin Region. Coordinated by the SBIC (State Budgetary Institution of Culture) Literary and Art Museum of A.P. Chekhov’s book «Sakhalin Island».

The purpose of the Conference is to study the essential issues posed by A.P. Chekhov in his book «Sakhalin Island».
