On December 7, 2017, the seminar “Development of the Old Industrial Base of Northeast China: Problems and Prospects” was held at the institute. The reports on different aspects of modernization of Northeast China as well as research results on other current issues of China’s development were presented.

On December 8, the delegation of the Heilongjiang Academy of Social Sciences (China) visited the Institute of History, Archaeology and Ethnography of the Peoples of the Far East, FEB RAS.

On November 16, the international symposium dedicated to the results of the 19th CPC National Congress was held in Beijing − International Think-tank Symposium of the 19th CPC National Congress: Implications for China and the World. Over 100 experts from 40 countries and international organisations took part in the symposium.

On November 7-8, 2017, an international scientific conference “The 1917 Russian Revolution in the Fortunes of Countries and Nations” commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Russian Revolution was held in Vladivostok. The organizers were the Institute of History, Archaeology and Ethnography of the Peoples of the Far East, FEB RAS and the Joint Academic Council of Humanities of the Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences with financial support from the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation.

On November 2, 2017, a scientific and practical conference “Ethnocultural Diversity and Experience in Implementing Ethnopolicy in Russia and the Countries of the Asia-Pacific Region” was hosted as a part of the 5th Congress of the Peoples of the Primorye Region at the Scientific Center of the Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The conference was organized by the Institute of History, Archaeology and Ethnography of the Peoples of the Far East, FEB RAS together with the Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Department of Internal Policy of the Primorye Region and the Assembly of the Peoples of the Primorye Region.
