On April 9-10, 2019, the 48th Annual Scientific Session “Results and Prospects of Fundamental Humanitarian Research in the Far East” was held at the Institute of History, Archaeology and Ethnography of the Peoples of the Far East, FEB RAS.

On March 24, the first parliamentary elections happened in Thailand since 2011. They became very special because they occurred while the military junta was in power and despite political restrictions announced and held general elections into the supreme representative body of power taking into consideration basic democratic principles including freedom of speech.

On March 26-28, 2019, the Children and Youth Centre with support from the Departments for Education and Science, Domestic Policy of the Primorye Region and with active involvement of the members of the Institute of History, Archaeology and Ethnography of the Peoples of the Far East of the Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences conducted the Regional Applied Science Conference within the framework of the government program “Patriotic Education of Citizens, Realization of National Policy and Development of Institutes of Civil Society in the Primorye Region in 2018-2020”.

The Institute of History, Archaeology and Ethnography of the Peoples of the Far East of the Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences has become a participant of the regional network of partner research centres which will help to organize a large-scale study of the history of Russian regions. This cooperation will help research fellows and PhD students of the Institute take part in conferences, workshops, internships and other events organized by the laboratory.
